Meeting Minutes - September 20, 2005
  1. Welcome Susan Ellis: running for Board Of Education.
  2. July meeting minutes approved.
  3. Treasurer Position
    a. Laura Dianis declined the position.
    b. Position still open.
    c. Responsibilities would be to open checking accounts, find out about non-profit status, balance check book.
  4. Byram Firehouse
    a. Comedy Night Oct 15th at the Glenville Polish Club. $20 per person.
    b. Wednesday nights after 6pm are sign ups for volunteer firemen.
  5. Enhancement Committee
    a. Met with Consultants.
    b. Provided a list of issues, many of them are in the plan.
    c. Paul Pugliese and Stephen Walko did a walk through with Diane Fox. They looked at sidewalks, parking lots, zoning enforcement issues.
    d. The First Selectman's Capital Improvement Committee will hold a Public Hearing in the Cone Conference Room (Town Hall) at 7:00 p.m. on September 27 for town residents and Town Officials on the 2006-2007 Capital Improvement Projects Budget. The hearing will allow Greenwich residents and officials to comment on the CIP Budget and to discuss capital projects listed for 2006-2007, as well as other capital projects not shown in the town's Ten Year Capital Plan for 2006-07.
  6. Delavan Ave / North & South Water Street Traffic light
    a. Jim Lash is moving forward on this per Mike B. Mike spoke with him regarding this issue.
    b. DOT said it was up to the town. Lile Gibons will check into this.
  7. GPD
    a. Officer Terry Fitzgerald stood in.
    b. Study done on trucks on South Water Street since concerns were brought up.
    c. Incident on Hervey Street- it was a driver error, he was cited and company was warned.
    d. Collisions are down.
    e. GPD is addressing the truck traffic issues.
    f. Officer Fitzgerald will mention that a speed trailer should be placed on Mead Ave for the speeding trucks.
    g. Arnolds Bakery should be contacted to see if they would pay for a sign to direct their trucks in the right direction and not down Byram Shore Road..
  8. Traffic Study Results:
    a. Copies were left at the meeting and it will be posted on the website.
  9. New Lebanon Field
    a. Voted on back in April/May.
    b. BNA can not go back and vote against the issue now. Roberts Rules of Order.
    c. BNA will make sure there are meetings on this issue in the future.
    d. Both sides spoke on the pros and cons of a new ball field for New Lebanon.
    e. New Lebanon field Committee voted on and approved.
    f. Members of this committee will be: Matt Popp, Bill Robins, Gene Nyitray. Bob Mata. Laura Dianis. Laura York. Jonathan Ash.
    g. BNA voted and passed that the committees of the BNA will work with the PTA & the BOE for the betterment of the school.
  10. Skating Rink
    a. Per Jim Lash this is not on the table.
  11. Next Meeting Committees will be formed
    a. BNA needs more involvement.
  12. Town Wide Clean Up
    a. October 8th.
