Meeting Minutes - October 18, 2005
  1. Minutes Approval
    a. Minutes approved with the one change of removing section 9C.
  2. Field Committee
    a. Bill Robins will be heading up the field committee.
    b. Goal is to work with the PTA for the best possible solution.
  3. Vets Club Pancake Breakfast
    a. Byram Vets club will be holding their Pancake Breakfast on November 6th.
  4. Byram Fire Department
    a. Donations will be going to a fire station in Louisiana.
    b. Still looking for all kinds of volunteers.
  5. Save Our Shores
    a. Meeting on October 25th.
  6. Mill Street Light: Light
    a. Lile Gibbons has had several email conversations with the state.
    b. Funding for this project is coming from the Federal government, thus more paperwork was needed.
    c. There was an issue with the bid; it was over the engineers estimate. Also the contract allows for 260 days with exclusion of winter months (Dec – March)
    d. Time frame for completion will most likely be Fall of 2006.
    e. Funding for the project is here, timing is now the issue.
    f. Mike B will get the name of the contractor doing the job.
  7. GPD Update
    a. Byram Statistics- please see copy of report (to come)
    b. Ready Guide- important info you need to know in case of an emergency. Please call Ann Augustine to get your copy 622.7836.
    c. Parking services is looking to get Byram their own parking enforcement person.
    d. Note- no parking within 25’ of a stop sign.
    e. Call non-emergency to report traffic violations 622-8000.
  8. Flyers in mailboxes
    a. It is illegal to stick any kind of flyer in a mailbox.
    b. Please do not use the BNA’s name on any flyer you wish to send out without permission from the executive committee.
  9. South Water Street Project
    a. Wahba brothers have purchased more land on South Water Street and hope to build another but smaller luxury condo complex.
    b. There will be public access to the waterfront with their current condo complex.
    c. ˝ the boat slips will be available to the public.
    d. Current condo complex projected time frame: Dec-foundation, Feb-studs, middle of 06 first C.O.
  10. Enhancement Committee
    a. Meeting with the designers.
    b. Update will be given at the November meeting.
  11. Treasurer Position
    a. Matthew Gillespie has accepted the nomination and was voted in.
    b. Bill Russell will help consult with any financial issues.
  12. Byram History Committee
    a. Please call Mike if you are interested.
  13. Byram Shubert Library
    a. Please see Lisa Johnston if you would like to volunteer with the library.
  14. Committees formed:
    a. Library Expansion: John Wahba, Patricia Kantorski, Joseph Kantorski, Lisa Johnson
    b. Safe Routes to School / Traffic & Pedestrian Safety: Frances Avery, Mike Bocchino
    c. Nuisances: Mike Bocchino, Cassie Guthrie
    d. Water Front & River (includes parks, beaches, boat club): Jonathan Asch, Philip Catalano Jr, Matt Popp, Don Vitti, Ivan Hidalgo, James Wahba
    e. Business: Sheldon Kahn, Paul Pugliese, Tim Judd, Joe Catalano
    f. Each committee will have one person to head it.
    g. Committees still open for more people.
  15. CIP- Capital Improvement Plan
    a. Mike B asked for this to be put on the 2006 CIP.
  16. NY State Highway
    a. No update as of yet on the work to the NY state highway.
    b. Mike B will get an update on this.
