PETITION AGAINST THE
FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF MCKINNEY TERRACE
On January 15, 1985, the Town of
Greenwich Planning and Zoning Commission considered a
preliminary application for the development of the McKinney
Terrace site. The Commission withheld its approval and advised
the Housing Authority the following: “A new site plan be
submitted showing no more that 72 total housing units on site in
conformance with the medium density 2-12 units in the plan of
development …” We the undersigned residents of Greenwich,
Connecticut, hereby oppose the addition of any new units to
McKinney Terrace. The site has, in our opinion, already reached
the point of maximum reasonable development as it stands now,
and the addition of new units will unfairly impose on the site
and the densely populated area in which it is located.
Furthermore, the site and the (former Byram School) building on
it should not be changed any further for the sake of maximum
historical preservation.

petition you agree with the opinion stated above.
